Accounts Receivable Specialist (Canada remote)

This is a remote, full-time contract opportunity, and is open to applicants in any Canadian province or territory.


JOB SUMMARY


We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. As an integral part of a small team, the accounts receivable specialist will work closely with the rest of the accounting department and communicate regularly with co-workers across multiple departments, as well as upper management. In addition to accounts receivable responsibilities, this role will assist with company payroll and general accounts maintenance across Brafton and our foreign subsidiaries. A strong attention to detail, good communication skills, an appreciation for spreadsheets, and the ability to efficiently manage and prioritize tasks are important in this position.



CORE FUNCTIONS
  • Generate monthly renewal invoices.
  • Maintain and track schedule of outstanding invoices.
  • E-mail and call clients on overdue payments.
  • Liaison with account managers on client issues. 
  • Attend weekly accounts receivable meetings and update management on overdue invoices/issues regarding payment delays.
  • Process incoming client payments.
  • Process client credit cards for payment.
  • Process changes in client invoicing.
  • Maintain schedule of future invoicing.
  • Maintain a deferred revenue schedule.
  • Perform project work in association with reconciliations, audits, tax filings, account analysis, etc.
  • Assist with bi-monthly payroll processing and pay item tracking.
  • Assist with issuance of vendor payments. 
  • Coordinate/Work closely with the accounting team to solve issues as they occur and streamline existing processes when possible.


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or general business
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office particularly Excel
  • Quickbooks experience a huge plus!
  • Must have the ability do work on complex spreadsheets
  • Ability to be able to juggle multiple tasks, stay on a tight time constraint, and remain detail oriented are required
