DB2 Database Administrator IILocation: Jacksonville, FLBrooksource is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join a leading grocery retail client in Jacksonville, FL. This role will support the organization with database management, optimization of automation processes, and general database support with a primary focus on DB2 LUW. This role will provide the right candidate an opportunity to work cross-functionally across the business and grow within database management.Responsibilities• Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 database software and related tools• Design, implement, and optimize database structures for performance and scalability.• Monitor database health performance, and capacity, taking proactive measures to ensure optimal operation, identifying areas of automation.• Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL• Perform regular database backups and validate restoration procedures.• Analyze, manage, and manipulate robust data models.• Work through ticket queue to address problem tickets, review, and implement code changes.• Develop and maintain Shell or Bash scripts for routine database administration tasks.• Create and implement automated monitoring and alerting systems, automated backup, and recovery processes.• Assists with SQL tuning and review database logs for performance tuning opportunities.• Implement schema changes based on database designs and theories.Qualifications• Strong knowledge of DB2 LUW (Linux, UNIX, Windows) including experience with recent versions (11.x and 12.x)• Proficiency in SQL and SQL Server management• Experience scripting in Shell or Bash scripting for database administration tasks• Maintenance and support of the Microsoft technologies (SSRS, SSIS)• Deep knowledge database, automation, architecture, modeling and schema design• Experience with performance tuning, query optimization and troubleshooting• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure)• Knowledge of additional database platforms (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL)Background and Experience• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field) or 4 years of additional relevant work experience• 4+ years’ experience of database analysis or database engineeringEight Eleven Group provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, citizenship, disability, genetic information, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, amnesty or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws
