Bulk Liquid Central Planner

Job Description :
The Bulk Liquid Central Planner is responsible for ensuring short- and long-term availability of bulk liquids & ingredients to the bottling sites. This role coordinates the bulk liquid production, blending and logistics for a planning horizon of up to one year in conjunction with site material planners! Additionally, this role is responsible for critical analytical reporting and presentation to senior management. Key partners include the Finite Planning and Scheduling teams, Finance, Logistics, Distillation & Maturation teams, Blending Team, and site Operations teams! This role also works with the Bulk Liquid Strategic Planning Team to ensure the long-term liquid maturate requirements are met. By using Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) tools in SAP, cash, service, and risk are kept in balance. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to balance priorities and exceptional analytical skills are a necessity. The role reports into the Bulk Liquid/Ingredients Planning Manager located in Plainfield, IL. The role location is also open to Stamford, CT.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support site materials planners through material movements between sites, forecasting, inventory analysis, SAP support, OMP readiness support and other ad hoc needs
  • Lead internal rum end-to-end planning process (distillation through final blending) or handle internal/external planning process for whiskey maturation through bottling.
  • Lead external rum liquid planning and logistics for maturation as directed by strategic planning team.
  • Prepare reports for and manage weekly planning calls between supplying/receiving sites, Logistics and Blending Teams
  • Prepare monthly inventory valuation reports and projections with meaningful analysis for presentation to senior partners.
  • Prepare rolling 12-month projections for bulk liquid logistics needs and lead Logistics planning calls to resolve equipment availability, demurrage, and P&L effects.
  • Prepare and lead monthly maturation and barrel dumping calls, as necessary.
  • Handle bulk liquid planning and logistics process for 3rd Party Co-Packers with supplying sites. Lead calls as necessary
  • Develop and maintain SAP liquid recipe set-up process for production sites
  • Develop, plan, and initiate liquid supply contingency scenarios as necessary
  • Actively coordinate with the Central Supply Planning to balance material availability with needed production
  • Partner with Procurement to monitor supplier performance and participate in supplier performance reviews.
  • Deliver forecasts to ingredients suppliers with analytical insights as needed
  • Develop, maintain, and report a set of metrics that demonstrate efficient and effective strategies.
  • Support strategic projects as a key participant.
  • Act as back-up for other Bulk Liquid Finite and Central Planners.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Capabilities:
  • Associate degree is required; Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field is preferred or 2-5 years of material/production planning experience
  • APICS CPIM certification desirable.
  • SAP or similar ERP software experience required.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Solid interpersonal skills with ability to lead, positively influence, and proactively handle all partner expectations.
  • Must be highly skilled in MS Excel and other analytical/planning applications.
  • Proven ability to prioritize optimally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Seeks innovative solutions for the supply chain with a strong eye for business. Champions new ideas and is not afraid to fail.
