Business Development Manager

Overview:
ERA, A Waters Company is looking for full-time Business Development Manager to manager our international business through our partners, distributors and resellers. We are looking for a strategic-minded, experienced candidate to join our organization based (remote) in our Golden, Colorado facility. In this role, the individual will drive strategic growth in their assigned geography by building relationships with customers, regulators and our partners. The priority will be to achieve sales growth targets and drive long-term growth by market development activities in the region.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and meet sales and profit goals in line with company objectives
  • Develop a channel business plan, including strategic focus, annually
  • Cultivate relationships with key regulatory and regional opinion leaders
  • Establish sales targets for distributors consistent with sales growth, product volume and discount goals to support the annual strategic plan.
  • Develop methodologies for selecting, defining, executing, optimizing, and managing channel partners
  • Recruit & develop channel partners to achieve the organization objectives.
  • Support seminar, conference, and user meetings etc in the regions by providing sales tools and delivering presentation materials and being present as needed to drive growth.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the distribution channel, termination of underperforming distributors, selection of new partners, and addition of distribution channels, where appropriate.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews and planning sessions with channel partners
  • Provided accurate and timely forecast, sales KPIs and competitive data.
  • Ensure the voice of customer is represented and central to decision surrounding marketing strategies and programs.
  • Provide and or coordinate technical sales training on new and existing products to distributors
  • Gain market intelligent qualitative and quantitative information around end use market size and change
  • Escalate partner issues to appropriate department to ensure that corrective action is taken
  • Travel as needed to drive growth
  • Perform other tasks as required

Indicated Performance Measures:

  • Performance against orders, revenue, and discounts
  • Forecast and market trend input accuracy
  • Regular and timely submission of required reports
  • Develop and execute sales action plans
  • Technical and Commercial sales experience 5-10 years of relevant experience proven track record in selling and managing complex sales with multiple stakeholders.
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Life Science or related technical discipline
  • Strong understanding of environmental and food analytical lab, ISO 17025 and life science market is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing and motivating distributors teams and successfully driving growth year on year.

  • Experience in sales techniques including qualifying and prospecting, identifying key decisions influencers, managing major proposals, countering objections, negotiations and closing

The general base pay for this position ranges from $114,500- $190,500 a year. Pay is based on several factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
