We have an exciting opportunity in our East Coast offices (Alexandria, VA/Washington, DC/Boston, MA) for an experienced Business Developer to help grow our Arts, Community and Education practice. In a business developer, we are looking for an ambitious collaborator who:

has a strong track record of growing and nurturing robust relationships within arts, community and/or higher education industries;
- understands and maintains strong connections within one or more of the following New England and/or Mid-Atlantic markets: arts, community and higher education;

is driven to be a relationship expert and leverages their curiosity to develop an in-depth understanding of our markets and our clients; and
-
actively uses their relationship expertise to deepen our client engagement strategy, is motivated to seek new personal and organizational growth opportunities.
In this role you will::
- Report to the Practice Group Leader and focus on strategic planning, identifying target clients, building a strong network, and positioning the firm to win impactful, enduring work.
- Work with Practice Group Leader and Principals to develop a list of potential targeted clients and project opportunities that support the market-driven strategy for our Arts, Community and Higher Education market sector.

Collaborate with national and local leadership to develop a regional strategy that aligns with our national brand.

Build and maintain relationships through a consultative and solutions-based approach with decision makers at the organizations identified as targeted clients.

Perform client research to support strategic prioritization of client targets and identification of key points of contact.

Research leads and make cold or warm calls to potential clients, evaluating and targeting prospects based on evaluation criteria.

Research public information about project procurement to learn about project opportunities in the pipeline.

Develop and maintain strong business network contacts to keep abreast of industry, client and competitor activity as well as identify strong project partners.

Meet with Principals on a regular basis to remain focused on growth, through strategizing, tracking and keeping each other accountable to client contact activities and prepositioning.

Work as a trusted partner with Principals to inform pursuit and interview strategy as part of “go/no-go” decisions.

Assist the Practice Group Leader in budgeting and monitoring the overall marketing budget. Work with marketing department to report KPIs.

Collaborate with marketing team to advise on the development of marketing collateral for client engagement.

Create awareness for HGA in the marketplace through professional organizations and events.
You will need to have::
- BS/BA in Marketing, Communications, Architecture, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience in a design-related field is preferred.

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Skills in Deltek Vision and/or other CRM/real estate software, is helpful. If not proficient, have a strong acumen to learn new technologies and software.

Skills with Adobe Creative Suite or other publisher-type software is helpful.
- This position requires frequent early morning, evening and some weekend event attendance outside of normal business hours.
- This position may require frequent air and over-the-road travel.
Salary Information::
The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $118,300 - $162,600
