The Construction Support team at the Materials and Fuels Complex (MFC) at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Carpenter.

Our team works an on-site 4x10 schedule located at our MFC facility with every Friday off!

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform carpentry construction and repair work for MFC site facilities.
  • Perform layout, fabrication, and installation of new and replacement wood structures such as boxes, frames, supports, platforms and scaffolding, cabinets, plastic, and Formica.
  • Perform concrete finishing and core drilling.
  • Repair door latches, locks, and closures.
  • Perform all types of floor and ceiling tile installation and repair.
  • Participate in training/retraining program required by Laboratory requirements.
  • Direct the conduct of work in accordance with procedures and/or direction from the Fabrication Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum Requirements:

  • A high school diploma/GED and a minimum three years of journeyman level experience.
  • Solid understanding of procedures as related to areas of responsibility and safety standards and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in making decisions, solving problems, carpentry techniques, and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of drawings, schematics, and sketches.
  • Ability to work from ladders, platforms, scaffolds, and boom lift equipment.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information

  • Salary: $35.69/hour (Rate can vary based upon individual work location, clearances, and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change. These are bargaining unit positions.)

  • TDP-Testing Designated Position: You will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
