Cashier/In-store Pickup Associate

Under supervision, processes retail sales and register transactions and assists customers with purchases, orders, and/or deliveries. Restocks shelves and maintains merchandising and visual display standards. Interacts with customers to provide information in response to inquiries about processes, products, or services; handle and resolve complaints; or refer complex matters to managerial staff.

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Expectations include:

• Must be available a minimum of 4 consecutive hours on Monday, August 21 and Tuesday, August 22, 2023

Responsibilities include:

• Ability to work on a cash register in a large college bookstore, interacting with hundreds of customers
• Accepts a variety of payments, verifies and posts to appropriate accounts, and issues receipts
• Provides information to customers regarding policies and procedures related to transactions
• Directs customers to proper Bookstore departments or UNM offices
• Maintains confidentiality of university and student records
• Maintains accurate and complete receipt documents in an organized manner
• Anticipates currency and coin requirements and reorders as necessary
• Assists customers who set off pedestal alarm in a friendly and professional manner
• Ability to stand for most of the shift
• Performs other job related duties as assigned
