1. Provides immobilization devices as required.
2. Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis.
3. Provides radiation protection.
4. Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or CT procedures.
5. Consults with physician and/or reads physician’s orders to determine proper testing procedures according to established protocol.
6. Assists the physician in preparing and administering contrast material.
7. Transfers images to PACS system with the necessary scanned documents.
8. Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination. Adheres to Infection Control Policies.
9. When necessary must transport patients to and from the Radiology Department.
10. Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards and built in low dose features.
11. Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of CT and IR procedures.
12. Prepares all accessory materials and/or equipment for all the procedures as directed by the Radiologist.
13. Examines the study/images for adequacy and makes necessary adjustments.
14. Assures patients and staff are treated in a courteous and professional manner. Exhibits respect and awareness of quality of patient care.
15. Registers patients and answers phones as required.
16. Maintains adequate records as directed including daily QC. Requisitions are properly completed. Registers patients and answers phones as required.
17. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the CT Scanner and Radiology rooms.
18. Takes inventory, request and secures all supplies and materials necessary for the CT Scanner and IR rooms.
19. Supervises clinical instruction of assigned student radiographers.
20. Maintains acceptable attendance and punctuality records in compliance with hospital standards.
21. Adhere to the Policy of the Medical Center to ensure that patient information and medical records are treated as confidential, in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations.
Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Minimum formal education of High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. One year experience as a staff technologist with CT experience in comparable hospital setting preferred
3. New York State License, ARRT certification.
4. Thorough knowledge of the principles and procedures of CT.
5. Must possess oral and written skills for communicating with patients, physicians, and other staff.
6. Must possess some degree of independent judgment and discretion in performing procedures
Pay: $52.00 - $55.00 per hour
