The Patient Care Manager is responsible for overseeing patient care in the Emergency Department. Provides leadership, influence on others to meet patient needs and achieve shared goals to effectively prioritize system resources to provide quality and valued patient care. Promote cooperative behavior, act as a role model, resource and mentor to the staff. Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train and evaluate work results. Ability to use information and keep abreast of developments in technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate errors and support decision-making in patient care. Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations, standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies, hospital and department standards, protocols and policies of the Emergency Department. The PCM designs, implements and maintains performance improvement activities within the department. The PCM assists in formulating budget, prepares and submits nursing payroll, participates in, and makes decisions for hiring, orienting, evaluating, scheduling and disciplining employees.
