The Opportunity: 

We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist in a 6 months contract position, with a possibility of extension and/or conversion into a permanent role.  Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the entire spectrum of Account payable and payments / expense management for the NAM region, ensuring accurate invoice processing, effective vendor communication, and timely payment preparation. This role also involves maintaining financial accuracy and supporting cash flow forecasting to ensure financial stability.

To excel in this role, you'll need to leverage your ability to quickly grasp new concepts and maintain a curious mindset, enabling you to navigate complex financial processes effectively. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will also come in handy and ensure accurate record-keeping, while your self-motivation will drive proactive problem-solving and independent task completion.

As our Accounts Payable Specialist, you can expect to:

  • Oversee the entire North America Accounts Payable and Expense process.

  • Ensure accurate entry of invoices and preparation of payments, including bank transactions.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completion of Accounts Payable and Expense bookings.

  • Prepare month/quarter end Accounts Payable and Expense related journal entries, ensuring correct categorization under relevant cost centers.

  • Monitor daily cash balances and forecast cash flows using data analysis for informed decision-making.

  • Manage banking relationships, ensuring seamless transaction processing and timely execution while addressing inquiries.

  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports on treasury activities for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Collaborate with Finance to optimize working capital strategies, focusing on cash conversion cycles and minimizing working capital requirements.

  • Assist in developing and implementing robust cash management policies and procedures to enhance controls and mitigate risks.

  • Evaluate treasury management systems to streamline operations, providing recommendations and participating in deployment for optimal efficiency.

  •  Support the Finance team in treasury and cash flow management and forecasting.

  • Analyze cash flow trends to identify optimization opportunities, offering actionable insights to enhance cash flow efficiency.

  • Assist in monitoring daily cash balances and preparing cash flow forecasts.

  • Participate in global projects, including the evaluation of systems and processes to streamline operations and align with organizational goals; and offering insights to enhance outcomes and mitigate risks.

We're hoping you will bring:

  • Experience in all aspects of expense management, including processing payments

  • Related and/or relevant industry education

  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles

  • Proficiency in data entry.

  • Ability to quickly learn new concepts.

  • Curiosity and willingness to explore complex financial processes.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.

The following will be considered an asset: 

  • Experience with the application of double-entry methods to Accounts Payable processes

  • Experience using Netsuite and Tipalti platforms

  • Degree in Accounting or Business Administration

  • Working towards CPA designation
