In Finance, you will have the opportunity to grow your career in different functional groups such as Accounts Payable, Midstream Accounting, Bank, Revenue and Retail, Credits and Receivables, Intercompany, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Upstream Accounting and Business Analysis and Support.
This position will provide a wide variety of financial analysis to support the Shipping Business Unit’s management reporting, corporate reporting and external reporting deliverables. This role will liaise closely with the Shipping Finance Team and will act as an integral part of the team – providing comprehensive financial support to complete regular close activities as well as forecasting and business planning processes.
Chevron is accepting online applications for the Shipping Financial Analyst position located in Makati City, Philippines.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Provides general accounting and reporting services to the Shipping organizations:
- Settles payables and send out invoices to 3rd party counterparties, affiliates and intercompany entities after interpreting contracts and validating important and required information against necessary documents.
- Works with the Charterers and/or Voyage Managers to resolve issues and concerns that may affect the financial results.
- Performs month-end tasks and other general accounting services including ad-hoc inquiries from the business unit.
- Supports SOX controls and testing, and internal/external audit requirements.
- Participates in analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and operating results of Shipping business unit.
- Compiles basic business performance reporting for Shipping BU management.
- Supports various month-end close activities and accounting entries, including associated account reconciliations.
- Leverages digital expertise and process standardization to find efficiencies and optimize workflows.
2. Partners with Manila Midstream Accounting Leadership Team in delivering reliable and cost-efficient services:
- Monitors effectiveness of applicable controls, assesses gaps, develops corrective plans, reports on progress made, and results.
- Establishes processes and procedures to ensure conformance and alignment with corporate requirements.
- Supports internal and external financial audits; serves as a contact for internal and external auditors. Provides guidance on financial internal control issues.
- Assists in executing the team’s work plans and supports its revisions as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Minimum of 10 (10) years overall work experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, teamwork and customer engagement skills
- Must have the propensity to work in a proactive, results-oriented, and customer-focused environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in SAP/JDE
- General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process exposure preferred.
