Your Mission: 

The Property and Asset Director is a key leadership role, driving the strategic vision and operational excellence of the Facilities, Fleet, and Safety and Security teams. This individual is instrumental in ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for the Chinese American Service League’s clients, employees, and stakeholders. Acting as the organization’s liaison with inspectors, vendors, contractors, and government agencies, the Property and Asset Director safeguards CASL’s physical infrastructure while enhancing its functionality and compliance. 

In this highly visible position, the Property and Asset Director collaborates closely with clients, employees, senior leadership, and the Board of Directors, shaping CASL’s operational landscape and advancing its mission through innovative and sustainable practices.

Your Impact: 

As a Property and Asset Director, you will: 


Key Responsibilities: 


Facility & Fleet:
  • Develop and implement facility and fleet team strategies, policies, procedures, and consistent updates and communications to support the organization's goals and objectives. 
  • Identify and adopt innovative processes in facilities planning, vendor/partner selection and contracting, and construction management to meet program/stakeholder objectives, reduce cycle time, improve service, and decrease 'total cost of ownership' 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and program stakeholders to ensure spaces are being employed to the highest utilization and enhance the overall experience of all constituents. 
  • Lead the construction, operations, maintenance, and evaluation activities of all physical/infrastructure assets, including ground and transportation, to ensure industry best practice, functionality and comfort for the clients and employees. 
  • Provide leadership and accountability in all matters related to facilities and assets, both current and new including: Incorporating specific performance metrics or KPIs (e.g., "Develop and monitor KPIs for fleet management, targeting a 10% reduction in maintenance costs annually").  


Safety and Security:
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate safety and security team strategies, policies, procedures, with consistent updates and communications to support the organization's goals and objectives. 
  • Develop the organization’s safety and security program utilizing industry best practice. 
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, training, evaluation and updating of the crisis response plan. 
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and post evaluation of security plans for special events. 
  • Review, evaluate, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury. 
  • Conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. 
  • Investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future. 


Administrative/Leadership:
  • Serve as the lead support for the Facilities Committee, preparing necessary reports and KPI’s for quarterly meetings. 
  • Assess, develop, maintain, evaluate, and report on the Reserve Study and facilities operating budget to ensure quality and reliable assets within budget structures. 
  • Maintain contact with insurance carriers, fire and police departments, and other agencies to ensure protection and compliance with building codes and regulations. 
  • Review, process, and approve invoices, work orders, reports, and ensure accurate and timely payment for services in compliance with the organization’s policy. Hold the facilities team accountable for delivering to the same standards. 
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of staff and contract personnel and evaluate their performance utilizing set KPI’s and SLA’s.  
  • Recommend capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment or property, utilizing maintenance service data, to increase efficiency and services. 
  • Direct the preparation of budgets, short, medium, and long-range plans, and resource allocations.  
  • Ensure the organization complies with state and federal regulations, health and safety standards and policies, function as a liaison with outside agencies and state and local governments. 
  • Attract, develop, and foster a highly professional, responsive and customer-service oriented staff with a core focus on advancing our missions. 


Must Haves - To thrive in this role, you should have:

Education & Experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree required, with an MBA preferred for advanced strategic planning and organizational leadership skills.  
  • Minimum ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in facility management, IT, or safety and security, with a track record of implementing effective evaluation and accountability measures.  
  • Professional certification in real estate, information technology, or safety and security is a plus, with a preference for candidates who have demonstrated ongoing professional development and adherence to industry standards.  

Skills & Knowledge: 
  • Strong executive presence with a track record of effectively engaging with a broad range of high-level stakeholders. 
  • Leads with an overarching organizational mindset. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills required, and experience in a matrix organization preferred. 
  • On call availability in case of emergency 
  • Leadership experience in on-going development and improvement of standards and integrated policies, processes, controls, and procedures for the department. 
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team. 
  • Ability to negotiate, consult, and influence decisions of key stakeholders, internal clients, and external vendors. 
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with attention to detail; Ability to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced, agile environment. 
  • Success in this role is highly dependent on the ability to collaborate and develop great working relationships with various teams across Bunge such as functional leaders, individual country site management, and manufacturing and operations teams. 


Physical Demands:
  • Light work exerting up to (20) pounds of force occasionally. 
  • Requires walking or standing to a significant degree. 
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. 


Environment and Scheduling:
  • Required to be in the office (5) days a week between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and occasionally including the weekends. 


Compensation & Benefits: 

 

This position offers a salary range of $100,000 - $120,000 annually, reflective of experience and qualifications
