Major Responsibilities
- Under general direction, with wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment, perform very responsible work related to the condition assessment of building mechanical systems that serve community facilities, in accordance with Agency guidelines and inspection protocols and state and local regulations that pertain to capital asset and project planning.
- Collaborate with other Parks technical staff, including professional cost estimators, engineers, architects, and others, to accurately document observed conditions of mechanical systems, identify and describe solutions to deficiencies, and perform difficult work in the preparation of project schedules and cost estimates required for capital funding.
- Prepare assessment summary reports, perform analyses, and review system plans, funding, and operations to help identify opportunities for action that will improve asset condition and meet benchmark performance requirements.
- Monitor Parks’ capital project and asset management systems for the development, tracking and implementation of capital planning initiatives.
- Provide technical assistance and training to other Parks staff in techniques of conducting capital needs assessments, including completion of inspection checklists and use of custom mobile applications.
