2025 ClassiCorps Teaching Fellowship

As a ClassiCorps Teaching Fellow at Classical Charter Schools, your primary responsibility will be to lead students in mastering grade-level Common Core State Standards, ensuring they achieve significant educational gains. You'll also be tasked with creating a respectful and orderly classroom environment, guiding scholars in demonstrating core values such as responsibility and citizenship. Moreover, you'll engage in coaching sessions twice a week, receive summer preparation training, and create a supportive learning atmosphere that promotes both academic and personal growth.

To apply for the 2025 ClassiCorps Teaching Fellowship at Classical Charter Schools, prospective candidates must have an undergraduate degree by May 2025 with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Importantly, experience working with children is also required. We welcome applicants from all majors, provided they align with our mission and showcase an ability to navigate the demands of teaching in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

The ClassiCorps Teaching Fellowship program spans three years, beginning on June 2, 2025. During this time, fellows will engage in intensive coaching and professional development, including the opportunity to complete a Masters' in Teaching fully funded by Classical Charter Schools. This structure is designed to ensure that fellows are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide world-class education while also being encouraged to remain with the network beyond the initial commitment.

The ClassiCorps Teaching Fellowship at Classical Charter Schools is an in-person position with no remote options available. This allows fellows to engage directly with students and the school community, fostering meaningful connections and providing impactful educational experiences.

To foster a positive classroom environment, I would establish clear expectations and routines, promoting respect and accountability. Engaging students through interactive lessons that align with their interests can further enhance participation and enthusiasm for learning, creating a culture of caring and support.

In my previous experience, I encountered a challenging student who struggled to engage with the curriculum. By taking the time to understand their interests and adapting my teaching methods, I was able to build a trusting relationship that improved their motivation and academic performance significantly.

To help students achieve mastery in Common Core State Standards, I would employ differentiated instruction, ensuring that lessons cater to various learning styles. Regular assessments would be essential to track student progress, allowing for timely interventions and personalized support.

In handling disruptive behavior, I would first address the student privately to understand any underlying issues. Reinforcing classroom expectations and employing restorative practices can aid in re-engaging the student positively while maintaining classroom integrity.

I was motivated to apply for the ClassiCorps Teaching Fellowship due to my passion for education and desire to impact underrepresented communities meaningfully. The opportunity to receive a Masters' in Teaching while contributing to Classical Charter Schools' mission greatly excites me.

I view feedback from Instructional Coaches as a vital aspect of my professional growth. I would take reflective actions by setting specific goals based on their suggestions, incorporating new strategies into my teaching practices, and continuously assessing their effectiveness with my students.

Engaging parents in their child's education is crucial; I would establish open lines of communication through regular updates and targeted invitations for parent-school events. Encouraging them to participate in their child's learning process fosters a partnership that benefits students' achievements.
