Chief Executive Officer

The vision of Clinical Health Network for Transformation (CHN) is to better fulfill the mission and promise of Planned Parenthood to bring high-quality, affordable care to every member of our communities. CHN is a collaboration between Planned Parenthood affiliates across the United States.


CHN is looking for individuals who are committed to supporting our shared goal of strengthening and enhancing our awareness and commitment to advancing the cause of health and race equity in our organization.


The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) provides leadership for all aspects of Clinical Health Network for Transformation (CHN)’s operations with an emphasis on meeting the organization’s long-term goals and growth. The CEO will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational management, and financial health of the organization. This role requires a visionary leader who can champion race (+) equity initiatives while ensuring delivery of high-quality services.


CHN seeks a leader who prioritizes transparency and values-based decision making, a focus on collaborative relationships across departments and partner organizations, and optimal service delivery to clients. 


Remote position with travel for affiliate or national office meetings. May reside in any location in the contiguous United States, however, must be able to flex work schedule to either Central Time Zone or Eastern Time Zone.


Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to establish CHN’s vision for optimizing affiliate support and services, and set objectives related to specific strategies with a focus on ensuring organizational sustainability.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the organization’s mission, values, and goals, with a focus on equity and cultural competence.
  • Oversee the ongoing operations of all departments at CHN, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of CHN’s services with a metrics-driven and customer-centered approach.
  • Serve as a role model for promoting the organization’s values throughout the organization; fostering an inclusive culture of continuous learning and improvement, encouraging staff to engage in professional development.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a high-performing leadership team to consider major decisions including joint ventures or large-scale expansion.
  • Oversees the organizations' financial structure, ensuring adequate and sound funding for the mission and goals of the organization; ensuring fiscal responsibility and transparency.
  • Reviews the financial results of all operations, comparing them with the organization’s objectives and responding appropriately to correct unsatisfactory performance and results.
  • Promotes communication and cooperation among the CHN departments, member affiliate leadership and staff, and Planned Parenthood Federation of America partners to create a spirit of unity, teamwork, and open communication in the organization.
  • Presents regular reports which include detailed analyses on the status of the organization’s operations to the board of directors and to CHN employees.
  • Serves as the organization’s representative to the board of directors, employees, customers, partner organizations, the government, and the public.
  • Oversee performance management systems that recognize, and reward contributions based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI)s as well as the organization’s mission and values.
  • Ensures the organization’s compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards, maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • Ensures compliance with all CHN and affiliate policies, as well as all state and federal regulations.
  • Serves in a leadership capacity to support the delivery of CHN and Planned Parenthood’s mission related to health equity, especially centering racial equity, and deep sense of accountability to community.
  • On an ongoing basis enhances CHN practices related to racial equity and the impact of structural racism on healthcare systems.
  • Sets the example for the CHN team through honest and direct communications on equity topics and issues that arise.

Qualifications and Experience (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree, in Health Care Administration or a related field and 7+ years of experience as a member of executive leadership team in a healthcare or nonprofit organization.
  • Extensive leadership experience that includes progressively expanded scope and responsibilities. Must have 3-5 years at the executive leadership level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a track record of implementing successful equity initiatives.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial operations over multiple functional areas.
  • Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in complex business operations.
  • Willingness to travel in accordance with the needs of the position, as outlined in the essential functions. Compliance with all CHN travel policies, including safety guidelines while operating a personal vehicle.


Qualifications and Experience (Preferred)
  • Education may vary, advanced degrees in healthcare administration, public health, business administration preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and addressing health disparities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.

Total Rewards Package

$350,000 Mid-Point. CHN believes in fair and equitable pay. Please note that actual salaries may vary within a pay range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, and business need.
