Summary

We are currently seeking a Finished Goods Logistics Planner to join our team in Racine. In this role, you will coordinate outbound logistical operations including order management, inventory management, packaging, warehousing, and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products at the lowest cost. The planner is responsible for using transportation models that reflect changing business conditions and implement a transportation network with the lowest total overall costs. They will be responsible for maintaining all the system parameters in the logistics and planning systems. They will monitor KPIs and proactively adjust the network and the shipping parameters to meet KPIs. The planner will maintain SOPs related to transport planning and drive continuous improvement with Kaizens. The planner will also work on more advanced Kaizens utilizing project management methodologies. The planner will follow the lean manufacturing methods while implementing transportation projects. The planner is expected to be a self-starter and accountable for meeting targets.

  • Manages the outbound Finished Goods order cycle end to end, from factory to final delivery.  Adhering to standard operating procedures to ensure timely pickup and delivery at lowest cost with highest customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize PowerBI to ensure timely documentation, planning, pickup and delivery of all wholegoods units. This includes domestic, import and export orders.
  • Handle and organize paperwork such as dock receipts, bills of lading, and packing lists.
  • Ensure all pickup’s for end of month and/or vessel timing.
  • Maintain weights and dimensions of all wholegoods.
  • Implement an optimized inbound and outbound transportation network.
  • Optimize dedicated trucks, ports of entry and Cross-dock movements.
  • Identify and implement projects at ports and plants that reduce non-value added activities.
  • Plan shipments and handle contingencies in transportation.
  • Develop and implement corrective action when expected results fall short of model results.
  • Develop reports to highlight cost of quality in transportation and include it in total cost modeling.
  • Develop standard reports to measure transit times with statistical analysis to ensure optimum planning parameters.
  • Ensure supplier and carrier Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are evaluated every week and corrective actions implemented.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects (Kaizens) to drive cost savings, process and service level improvements.
  • Ability to multitask operational tasks and project management to meet both short term & long-term objectives.
  • Lead Individual World Class Logistics activities with appropriate pace and rigor.

Annual base salary range for this position is $63,000 - $84,000 USD. (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of logistics planning experience or 5 years of logistics planning experience

Proficiency in Microsoft office suite of tools (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Excellent written and oral communication skills

SharePoint, SAP, OTM Systems experience, Project 44
