At Coffman Engineers, we serve as both prime consultant and sub consultant on projects large and small, including commercial, retail, institutional, government, industrial, and project/construction management. Incorporated in 1979, we have employees in more than 23 locations serving clients across the United States and overseas.

To meet client objectives and to integrate our many disciplines, we can create teams comprised of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and corrosion control, as well as project/construction managers and professionals in a variety of specialty services. Job Description

We are seeking a Structural Engineer with 0-2 years of experience and an interest in pursuing the design of commercial, institutional, and industrial structures. The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, have a desire to work and grow with a multi-discipline engineering team, and be willing to have fun. 

This position is not eligible for sponsorship. No paid interview travel or relocation expenses are offered for this position. This position is not remote.

Qualifications

Requirements Include:

  • A four-year degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field
  • Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred)
  • Registration as an E.I.T
  • Internship in the structural design of buildings or similar structures (preferred)
  • Experience with computer software programs and analysis systems (such as Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, REVIT, RISA, ETABS, etc.) (preferred)
  • Knowledge and experience with the International Building Code (IBC) and US design standards
  • Educational coursework focused on Timber Design, Steel Design, Masonry Design and Concrete Design  
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
  • Being comfortable consulting to architectural practices
  • Being self-motivated, hardworking, and eager to learn
  • Experience working as part of a multi-discipline design team (preferred)
