Director of People Operations (Remote, select U.S. states)

We are looking for a thoughtful, process-driven, strategic Director of People Operations to complement and help advance the People Operations function at Coforma.


In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day PeopleOps duties and collaborating across the company to strategize and implement systems, processes, and programs that help our people succeed.


The Director of People Operations will play an integral role in building and executing processes, policies, and programs, leveraging expertise and previous experience to support our PeopleOps strategy. Using a people-centered approach, you’ll help foster a supportive and inclusive culture across the entire organization.


This is a remote-first role (Eastern time zone strongly preferred) reporting to the Senior Director of People Operations.


$170,980 Annual Salary + Benefits + Growth Potential

This is a US-based remote position open to applicants in the states listed below. Some travel may be required.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
  • Manage the full scope of the employee lifecycle in partnership with Talent Acquisition
  • Partner with Coforma leadership to develop and implement people-centered policies and practices that will support the development and growth of the company
  • Facilitate and manage company-wide feedback cycles, educating people managers on best practices that foster and encourage continuous improvement
  • Help promote proactive planning and strategizing amongst the team
  • Work through employee concerns with a high degree of emotional intelligence
  • In partnership with our General Counsel and PeopleOps leadership, address employee relations issues and satisfy federal contractor compliance requirements timely and responsibly
  • Enable employee growth by collaboratively identifying, developing, and implementing company-wide learning and training initiatives
  • Support people-centered problem-solving with empathy and communication
  • Support and create employee resource groups to bolster our inclusive and collaborative company culture and advance our organization externally
  • Process employee changes and maintain accurate employee records across all PeopleOps systems in a timely manner
  • Make data-driven decisions while balancing company priorities and empathy
  • Serve as primary point of contact for benefit administration and benefit questions
  • Monitor SCA requirements, inform and track on other government requirements needs
  • Serve as a backup for payroll and other operations needs
  • Manage special projects, as assigned


Who You Are (Requirements)
  • 7+ years of HR Experience, preferably in a generalist position with exposure to different areas of HR and operations
  • 2+ years federal government contractor experience, ideally in the professional services or IT sector
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification
  • Proven experience partnering with executive leadership to help them lead an organization through periods of significant change, realignment, and growth
  • Ability to maintain the highest standard of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
  • Ability to identify gaps in processes and policies and recommend changes and improvements
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and can proactively work through projects and tasks with minimal instruction and oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfortable communicating with stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • A “people-first” mentality with the ability to build rapport and trust with teammates, internal stakeholders, managers, and employees
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills with a keen attention to detail
  • A "can-do attitude" and willingness to teach and learn from team members to ensure knowledge is dispersed across the team for effective coverage
  • Comfortable navigating difficult conversations in support of gender and race inclusion, pay equity, and the importance of respecting pronouns


Preferred Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working in a remote environment across different time zones
  • The ideal candidate will be located in the Eastern time zone


Other
  • Internet: Will prioritize and maintain access to strong, reliable internet for the remote nature of our work, except when on vacation or holiday
  • Security: Will keep the highest security practices to ensure privacy and security of Coforma and client information given the nature of our work, even when on vacation
  • Travel Flexibility: On request and with advanced notice, will attend in-person events such as meetings, workshops, and trainings as assigned for projects that require it
  • Brand Representation: Will represent Coforma professionally and sincerely, modeling our Company Values in all interactions

$170,980 - $170,980 a year

The salary for this position is $170,980 per year, in line with our company-wide equitable pay scale.

To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary is non-negotiable.

We participate in E-Verify. Upon hire, we will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.


Due to the nature of our work with the federal government, this role is required to work from the contiguous United States.
