Emergency Management Coordinator

Overview

The Emergency Management Coordinator prepares recommendations for best practices for emergency preparedness and reports to management and committees. Working under moderate supervision, this role analyzes the threats and vulnerabilities in the hospital community that pose a risk to staff and patients.

Responsibilities

Reviews emergency management equipment inventory to ensure that equipment is in working order and is exercised as required.Communicates the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations guidelines on preparedness standards to all departments.Utilizes the Hazard Vulnerability Process to evaluate what hazards are most likely and focuses emergency planning around these scenarios.Organizes one Hospital-wide Emergency Preparedness function each year to coordinate useful drills and evaluate the hospital's preparedness.Monitors the Hospital system's policies and strategies to measure compliance against emergency management preparedness standards.Supports the implementation and use of the Hospital Emergency Incident Command System throughout the organization in collaboration with the Emergency Management Department.Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's degree EXPERIENCE:Required: 3 years of experience in emergency services, emergency management, or a healthcare-related field LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required: Valid Driver's License (if driving a Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must be approved by Risk Management)Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) certification within 1 year of employment, ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 & applicable Incident Command CertificatesBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
