Overview:The Occupational Health Nurse is crucial in administering initiatives and services that promote and sustain safe and healthy workplaces for workers. Operating under direct guidance, this position centers on fostering and restoring health, preventing illnesses and injuries, and safeguarding employees from job-related and environmental threats within the company.Responsibilities:Assisting in the analysis of the employee population's needs and determining primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention methods along with health promotion strategies to enhance well-being and minimize the risks of injuries and diseases.Systematically documents appraisals, interventions, results, vocational and functional capacity status, screenings, and educational opportunities.Offers assistance in conducting health screenings and assessments, including post-job physical examinations, wellness evaluations, audiometric tests, vision checks, follow-up care for bloodborne pathogen exposure, and drug testing to detect and monitor health risks for employees.Implements health promotion incentives and educational tools to support employee health and fitness.Transmits suitable health information to the organization in a professional and timely fashion, including details about work-related injuries, statuses of returning to work, results from laboratory tests, and findings of drug screenings.Ensures employee health records are precise and understandable in alignment with departmental, organizational, and legal mandates.Ensures the secrecy and security of employee healthcare information and records.Executes any other assigned responsibilities.Qualifications:EDUCATION:Required:• Associate Degree in NursingPreferred:• Bachelor's degree in NursingEXPERIENCE:• No prior experience requiredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDRequired:Registered Nurse licensed in North Carolina or a Compact state; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
