The Program Coordinator supports the operational and administrative functions of a multi-year program designed to shrink health disparities in the San Gabriel Valley.
This is a grant funded position that will end on 11/30/2025.
(Must speak, read and write one of the program’s target languages: Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and testing will occur during the interview process)
Responsibilities:- Conduct door-to-door surveys and assessments in the assigned areas of the San Gabriel Valley
- Support planning and coordination of aprogram activities and operations
- Coordinate and maintain applicable program schedules and agendas, which may include tracking deadlines, deliverables, communication with management and/or stakeholders
- Help deliver general welfare interventions to the assigned communities of the San Gabriel Valley
- Provide services linkages to community members
- Attend community outreach events
- Use software apps and tools to collect and report relevant data tracking community health-metrics
- Other duties as assigned by the Program and Area Managers
Scope and Travel:- Extensive travel by foot and by car to, from, and within the San Gabriel Valley (Cities ofEl Monte, South El Monte and South San Gabriel), as well as travel to and from CORE’s Los Angeles Headquarters (Chinatown)
Qualifications:- Preference for candidate with bachelor’s degree in public health or health sciences, or at least two year’s equivalent experience in relevant field
Experience:- Minimum 1 year experience in public health, healthcare settings, community outreach or related fields
- Experience in community outreach, conducting surveys, collecting data, and reporting data
- Experience working with community-based organizations, local government agencies, volunteer groups in LA County (preferred)
Skills and Competencies:- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Flexible and adaptive to a frequently changing environment
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Ability to walk 4-5 miles/day (reliable transportation required)
- Knowledgeable of HIPAA regulations
- REQUIRED: Reading, writing, and speaking fluency in English, as well as one of the following languages: Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese), and/or Vietnamese
$27.81 - $27.81 an hour
In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
