Temporary HR Coordinator

Description

Location: Springfield, NJ (hybrid option available after training period)

Duration: 4-6 months, may become permanent

Schedule: 30-35 hours per week, Monday-Friday


We're seeking a detail-oriented, people-focused HR Coordinator to join our team in a temporary-to-permanent capacity. This role specializes in creating exceptional onboarding experiences through conducting orientation meetings, administering new hire surveys, and handling critical HR administration. 


The ideal candidate will be a natural communicator with strong organizational skills, comfortable presenting to small groups, and passionate about serving employees. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth transitions for new hires by managing documentation, maintaining compliance, and facilitating clear communication, while also supporting our HR Training Coordinator with scheduling and follow-up tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Hire Onboarding: Conduct new hire onboardings, Process paperwork (I-9s, tax forms, etc.), verify employment eligibility, and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations.
  • Systems Management: Enter and maintain employee data in HRIS/payroll systems (Paylocity).
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires, answering questions and guiding them through onboarding steps.
  • Compliance Audits: Assist with I-9 audits, EEO-1 reporting, and OSHA log updates as needed.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with HR, payroll, and hiring managers to resolve onboarding issues promptly.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in HR, onboarding, or administrative roles (training provided for exceptional candidates). Entry Level HR/Communications/ other applicable majors qualify!
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms (Paylocity) or ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
