Financial Controller

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join the Finance team, based in Athens.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial activities of the company ensuring accuracy, control and looking for cost reduction opportunities
• Ensure that company acts in a manner to minimize losses, fraud and maximize profit
• Prepare monthly, annual, ad hoc financial analyses, reports and presentations to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
• Develop budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
• Suggest updates and improvements and taking over the handling of projects for the further development of all accounting related - processes, procedures, interfaces, systems and workflows
• Oversee cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
• Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
• Develop and manage staff, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.

• 3-5 years of related work experience (previous experience in Retail industry will be considered an asset)
• Academic background (Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or similar and/or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business)
• Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills both in Greek and English
• Experienced with ERP systems (Navision would be desirable )
• IFRS knowledge will be considered as an asset
• A professional qualification (CFA, ACCA etc.) will be considered an asset
• Excellent analytical, project management, communication, problem solving, interpersonal and teaming skills
• Outstanding organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Willingness to learn, proactivity, openness to work in a multicultural environment
