Our Current Context

At Cubic Telecom, we’re growing very quickly and as a culture expert, you’ll appreciate that when you grow at this pace, there’s a risk that we dilute the special sauce of our culture. We love the vibe we’ve created, so we want to take all possible steps to safeguard this as we continue to grow. On this basis, we’re looking to appoint a new Leader in our People Team for this exciting new role.

Culture is evidenced in every Cubic interaction and Our Team of leaders, managers, and technical experts have the responsibility for safeguarding how we work. This role, which reports into the Chief People Officer, has access to every part of Cubic Telecom to help us shape, and deliver a world-class enjoyable and fun culture that scales with us on our journey. This role will have responsibility for one internal communications direct report, and work collaboratively with our People Director and our Talent Development Director to support the business.

The dynamics and profile of this role:

  • This is a visible and vibrant leadership role that sits as part of the People Team.
  • You will have complete access to empower our people managers and leaders to bring awareness and support so that they can play their role in nurturing and developing Cubic’s culture. On this basis, you will track to a number of important employee experience moments such as onboarding, promotion moments such as a first time people manager, becoming a manager of managers, senior leadership appointments etc.
  • In addition, with other leaders of the People Team, you will provide both pragmatic supports to managers and leaders as well as impactful coaching to ensure that as Our Team grows, our people feel empowered, and are being stretched.
  • You will have strong connection points into our employees to pick up the pulse. You can achieve this through 1:1s, manager community sessions, listening groups, pulse surveys, and focus groups etc. These themes will flow into leadership and help influence how we reinforce, adapt and communicate.
  • You will play an active role with our employee culture group called Empower and play help design and execute our EDI strategy. Promote diversity and inclusion within Cubic, ensuring that all employees feel valued and respected.
  • You will support the design and implementation of a comprehensive internal communications strategy for Leadership and the People Team to enable a free-flowing, consistent and transparent communications throughout the company.
  • Collaborate with our leadership, support the linking of our vision, values, and OKRs to empower each Cubican to contribute to the plan and participate in our culture.
  • Nurture and communicate our culture across Cubic to ensure our culture aligns with our business strategy, fostering an environment that supports business success
  • Work directly with our CEO and other SLT members on specific team dynamics and broader culture related activities.
  • Lead a culture programme that will help us distil and document the essence of our culture and facilitate the broader leadership and management teams to be the best, and most visible culture champions.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to boost employee engagement and satisfaction, creating a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
  • Design and implement recognition programmes that celebrate and reward behaviours that align with Cubic’s values.
  • Act as a cultural ambassador, representing Cubic’s values both internally and externally.

  • Proven experience working as a strategic People and Culture partner at a senior level within a scaling global company.
  • Expertise and interest in areas such as culture, organisational psychology, employee engagement, EDI and creating high performance environments.
  • You will be a compelling communicator who can convey strategic business topics into digestible and engaging content.
  • You will be on the journey toward, or have completed studies as an executive coach. Your coaching skills will be evidenced in your ability to influence and manage leaders and people managers.
  • An ability to communicate well with people and to build relationships at all levels across the business.
  • An empathetic and pragmatic approach to solving organisational challenges through our team.
  • Curiosity in exploring and adopting new practices ensuring that Cubic stays current in our approach and practices.
  • Resilience to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment that is growing quickly and the ability to adapt to meet changing circumstances.
  • An ability to take on challenges with optimism, a bias for action, and thoroughness in work quality.
