We are looking for a Sales Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2023.

We want to show you what the metals industry has to offer for a career, post-graduation. For 10 weeks during the summer, you will be shown all functional parts of our business, including sales and operations, and meet a variety of the people that make things happen at Ryerson. As an intern you will take ownership of a special project that directly impacts the business. This is your chance to apply your knowledge, creativity and make a real impact.

Here is what the successful candidate's day-in-the-life will look like:

Responsibilities and Duties:

• You will review provided data and current operating conditions; allowing you to improve existing processes and solving critical issues.
• As a member of our team, you will partner & learn from your teammates at Ryerson about our culture, history, procedures and plans for the future.
• You will do market research and identify potential relationships for Ryerson using marketing, social media, online research, track & report data, and share with members of the sales / operations team(s).
• You will look at our inventory to understand how it works. Find & identify our biggest needs and make improvements with some of our existing accounts.
• You will receive guidance and additional projects assigned by leadership

Position Requirements:
Progressive matriculation towards a bachelor’s degree; December 2023 & May 2024 graduates preferred.

• Prior work experience in sales, marketing, industrial distribution, customer service and/or manufacturing is a plus.
• Critical thinking skills and creativity
• Contagious energy: you know how to communicate your ideas and influence others
• Knows how to use Microsoft Office functions (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Office).
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated analytical and organization abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Personal initiative and leadership potential.
