Cyber Security Software Engineers

Overview:
ORAU is currently recruiting direct hire Cyber Security professionals and Software Engineers in support of the overall functions of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) of the Department of Energy (DOE). The NNSA is a United States federal agency responsible for safeguarding national security through the military application of nuclear science. NNSA maintains and enhances the safety, security, and effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile; works to reduce the global danger from weapons of mass destruction; provides the United States Navy with safe and effective nuclear propulsion; and responds to nuclear and radiological emergencies in the United States and abroad. Salary for positions will be determined based on education and experience. Relocation support is available for this position.

Responsibilities:

The Security Analyst and Engineers will be responsible for provisioning access to enterprise systems. This will be accomplished by maintaining a high degree of focus on customer service. He or she will be responsible for ensuring compliance with governmental, industry, and departmental regulations and controls. This individual must be trustworthy and responsible for maintaining secure and confidential information and/or data of a sensitive nature. He or she must be familiar with specific IT - Identity & Access Management guidelines and policies and possess a serious commitment to accuracy and quality. The person in this position must maintain and be able to present information in professional, well-written formats, and have the ability to pay very close attention to detail. The person in this position must be able to work independently. He or she must also be able to obtain or have a security clearance at any level.


  • Minimum 1-year relevant work experience in IT, Identity & Access Management, Information Security, or other Provisioning Systems
  • Demonstrates integrity, analytical competence, troubleshooting skills, team skills, and flexibility.
  • Requires interpersonal skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
  • Have strong Windows & Application skills.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effectively writes or articulates thoughts, ideas, and documentation.
  • Abide by all JCAHO and HIPAA regulations.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Performs assignments while demonstrating a sense of urgency as needed.
  • Strong self-management skills with ability to organize, plan, and juggle multiple priorities and assignments to maximize productivity.
  • Team oriented, active participant in team and project meetings.
  • Demonstrated judgment to delegate / escalate issues appropriately.
  • The flexibility to orient and work at any NNSA locations
  • Perform technical security assessments, code audits and design reviews.
  • Develop technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Advocate security and secure practices throughout Google.
  • Conduct research to identify new attack vectors against Google's products and services.
  • Be involved in offensive security exercises.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Year of experience in application-level vulnerability testing and code-level security auditing.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced Degree in Sofware Engineering or Cyber Security or former Military
  • Relevant work experience in web application security.
  • Software development experience in C++ or Java.
  • Knowledge of security engineering, computer and network security, authentication, security protocols and applied cryptography.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
