This position is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of the database structures. Conducts analysis, creates system specifications, develops, tests and implements engineering, scientific and business applications, operating systems, and file/database servers. Utilizes existing or new technology in the automation of processes. Evaluates software packages and provides recommendations to management.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
Designs, codes, tests document, implements and maintain database utilities. (30%)
Performs database analysis and design reviews under supervision. (20%)
Assists in the research and fact-finding to develop or modify database structures. (20%)
Provides support for vendor-developed database implementation and periodic maintenance releases as required under supervision. (10%
Provides technical input to assist in development of project planning under supervision. (10%)
Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (10%)
This is a multi-level posting, with multiple positions to be filled. Positions may be focused on any of the following areas: Oracle Middleware Administration, Azure and Big Data functions and/or warehousing and data integration.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree.)
A minimum of two years of additional directly-related experience is required.
Educational experience in database administration or systems analysis on one of the following or any combination: Oracle and Oracle Cloud products.
Basic understanding of how to do performance tuning of enterprise level applications.
Experience or training with database technology – Oracle preferred.
Experience or training with SQL and PL/SQL development.
Experience or training with Oracle Middleware, WebLogic Server and Linux platforms.
Effective oral and written communication skills utilizing your ability to work with other database administrators to learn and grow in your abilities. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Availability for regular on-call responsibilities.
