POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include overseeing the maintenance and security measures of company databases. Including monitoring for security breaches, creating account data for authorized individuals to access databases and organizing databases so individuals can find important documents in an efficient manner.
Making requested changes, updates and modifications to database structure and data.
Also be responsible for data analysis, utilizing the data warehouse and other data sources.
Must have excellent TSQL query writing skills, able to write complex queries for data warehouse and database maintenance scripting.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Core Competencies)
* Writing from scratch complex TSQL queries
* Creating and maintaining database standards and policies
* Supporting database design, creation, and testing activities
* Managing the database availability and performance, including incident and problem management
* Administering database objects to achieve optimum utilization
* Defining and implementing event triggers that will alert on potential database performance or integrity issues
* Performing database housekeeping, such as tuning, indexing, etc.
* Monitoring usage, transaction volumes, response times, concurrency levels, etc.
* Identifying reporting, and managing database security issues, audit trails, and forensics
* Designing database backup, archiving, and storage strategy
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• Advanced knowledge of database structure languages, such as SQL or SQL/PSM
• Knowledge of database design and theories
• Ability to work with data architects and other IT specialist to set up, maintain and monitor data networks
• Data warehouse structures
• Experience with server installation and maintenance
• Familiarity with database management best practices
• Knowledge of IT security best practices
• Experience with a variety of computer information systems
• Excellent attention to detail
• Problem-solving and critical thinking
• Ability to explain complex ideas in simple terms
CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE:

Work in an office environment; sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of
time; use hands to grasp and reach; occasionally stoop or kneel; see, hear, and speak with
sufficient acuity to successfully perform all aspects of the job; use telephone and write or use a
