Software Engineer – VoIP & Real-Time Transcription (Windows & iOS) | Potential Technical Co-Founder
About Us:
We're a tech startup building the future of voice communication — imagine iMessage, but focused on live phone calls with integrated, real-time transcription. Think simple, secure, and elegant voice communication, built for both Windows desktop and iOS.
We're looking for a talented engineer to join us early and help build the foundation of this product. This is a paid, long-term role with the potential to grow into a technical co-founder position if there's strong alignment.
What You’ll Work On:
- Build the MVP desktop VoIP app for Windows
- Develop the iOS version using Swift (or similar)
- Integrate real-time transcription using APIs like Google Speech, Deepgram, Whisper, etc.
- Help design the backend for low-latency voice and messaging communication (WebRTC, SIP, etc.)
- Ensure privacy, stability, and performance across platforms
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong experience with VoIP technologies (WebRTC, SIP, RTP)
- Familiarity with live audio capture, streaming, and transcription workflows
- Proficiency in iOS development (Swift) and/or Windows development (Electron, C#, or C++)
- Comfortable with speech-to-text APIs and working in real-time environments
- Willing to collaborate, iterate, and take ownership
Bonus Points For:
- Cross-platform development experience (e.g., Flutter, React Native)
- Familiarity with Firebase or custom real-time backends
- Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping define product direction
