POLITICO is seeking a Deputy Production Director to lead a portion of our large team of multi-skilled digital producer/copyeditors. The deputy works closely with the Editorial Director, Production & Copyediting, and two other deputies to manage day-to-day workflow for POLITICO editorial content for subscriber and consumer audiences. The deputy will work on a dynamic and fast-paced team that sits at the heart of the newsroom and serves as the last line of defense before content is published to platforms and email delivery systems.
The deputy director must build relationships with direct reports and team members as well as with editorial colleagues across POLITICO – reporting teams and our breaking news desk, content strategy and engagement, visuals and graphics and our Standards and Ethics editor. The deputy director participates in hiring and training new producers and is on the lookout for opportunities for their team of early-career journalists to explore their career aspirations within POLITICO. The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable and flexible and possesses excellent communication and time management skills.
