As a Digital Power Train Engineer, you will be a vital member of the engineering team in Motion Service consulting on technical solutions, approving assignments, and overseeing timely completion to high standards. In this role you will be responsible for bringing expertise to help our connected service customers in our US market, ensuring they capture the value enabled by our industry leading digital offering. You will be providing actionable recommendations to help end users to minimize unplanned downtime, reduce operation cost, and enable a more proactive maintenance related to connected drives.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide remote monitoring service to connected assets (e.g. drive) based on ABB/client agreed service level agreement
  • Conduct data analysis to identify potential issues and document the findings as expert reports
  • Review expert reports with end users or 3rd party service provider regularly by articulating the recommendations based on analytic findings
  • Document actions being taken, results, and ROI achieved by end users in a structured way to facilitate solution expansion and renewal
  • Coordinate follow up actions with ABB internal team (e.g. service, sales, product management) to help end users resolve identified issues
  • Provide technical support, root cause analysis, hardware replacement, firmware upgrade to solution installation base and 3rd party service providers

Your background

  • Bachelor degree in applied science or engineering with 2+ years of working experience OR Associate degree in applied science or engineering with 4+ years of working experience in technical support OR high school diploma/GED and 6+ years of related experience
  • Sound knowledge of drive and related applications, highly preferred
  • Knowledge of asset reliability analysis, required
  • Experience in connectivity gateway installation and commission and typical network protocols, required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong presenter
  • Approximately 20% domestic travel
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
