Statement of the Job:

The Director for Student Involvement oversees the Center for Student Involvement with direct oversight and supervision of campus-wide events, traditions, and engagement programs for campus. The Director should be highly invested in student engagement and offering students robust co-curricular activities. Typical hiring range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is offered as either a 12 or 11-month work year, to be determined at time of hire. Salary to be prorated for 11-month work year accordingly.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • A master's degree in higher education, counseling, student personnel, or related discipline.
  • Typically 3-5 years’ experience in student development in Higher Education.
  • Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • This person must be student centered and have knowledge of current best practices in leadership, student involvement and student organizations.
  • Self-motivation and thoroughness are essential qualities for this position.
  • The successful individual will demonstrate sensitivity to issues related to diversity and also demonstrate the ability to work in a collaborative manner at all levels of the university and division, including those from underrepresented groups.
  • This individual must have strong organizational skills, and be familiar with contracting performers, security and similar event-related support.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in community development, activity/event planning, student engagement and/or student organization development.
