The Director of Donor Relations, housed within the Office of Engagement, seeks to deepen the donor experience by providing stewardship projects, programs and events that demonstrate profound appreciation, gift accountability and meaningful impact. This position plays a significant role in supporting the overall Engagement and Development fundraising objectives, University strategic trajectory goals and aspirational aims.
Job Responsibilities:
Execute gift acknowledgements for annual giving, major gifts and special events as well as personalized acknowledgements for the Office of the President and Vice President.
Lead an internal partnership between the Office of Student Financial Services, Office of Finance and Accounting, and Office of Development to manage all donor funds.
Oversee endowed fund reports, including student scholarship thank you letters, personalized financial reports, faculty/missions impact reports and updates on the university endowment.
Supervise and facilitate the gift agreement and fund creation process from reviewing copy and verifying the sustainability of fund criteria to creating accounts within internal databases.
Assist with technical projects and requests including Banner data audits, JotForm surveys, Emma emails, various data requests and overall maintenance of the DER website.
Develop content and copy for segmented stewardship communications and university events.
Lead and organize large receptions and personalized gatherings to celebrate donor impact, create meaningful connections between donors and students and encourage future giving.
Manage a portfolio of donors in permanent stewardship and personalized communication plans.
Lead and expand Belmont’s stewardship program utilizing innovative techniques to thank donors.
Provide support for Presidential and Advancement events to help ensure Belmont stakeholders have the best guest and donor relations experience.
Perform other duties as assigned by the AVP for Engagement.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
General understanding of Belmont University and higher education.
Must demonstrate ability to produce forms and reports using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
Adept at providing excellent customer service both to internal and external constituents.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Data entry skills and knowledge and familiarity with Banner systems preferred.
Self-motivated and well organized.
Detail and service oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks.
Able to provide staff support for events on nights and weekends when necessary.
Ability to work harmoniously with other staff members within the Advancement division and throughout the university.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment. Ability to thrive in an environment of teamwork with a “can do” attitude.
