Our three Resource Centers (located in Nashville, TN; Boulder, CO; and San Diego, CA) are available for scheduled in-person events or assigned workspaces for those who want to work in the office. Remote team members also have access to flexible space scheduling for occasional use.

Job Description


Your Role As a HealthStreamer


The Director, Product Management - Applications is a multifaceted and highly visible role responsible for the application product portfolio and reporting to the vice president of product. You will work across multiple internal departments to define and implement the portfolio’s vision, strategy, and roadmap, assuring measurable attainment of revenue and customer satisfaction goals, and aligning all activities with HealthStream’s organizational strategy and objectives.


The ideal candidate must be tech savvy with strong business acumen and product discipline; a big-picture vision as well as the passion and skills to successfully execute strategic priorities and ensure product vision becomes reality.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Product Management: Create and manage the vision and strategy for the apps portfolio aligned with organizational priorities. Grow sales and revenues for assigned portfolio. Conduct research to fully understand the competitive environment, market share, and financial performance, and report internally on results. Serve as the subject matter expert and face of the portfolio across the company. Lead the product launch process and assure accurate and complete understanding of portfolio through routine internal training and communication.

  • Sales and Marketing Support: Work with product marketing team to ensure new product releases are supported with effective sales tools and collaterals. Prepare the sales staff with training, talk tracks, and competitive intelligence. Produce well-researched and well-founded product pricing and appropriate incentive/discounts. Prioritize the production of marketing materials and sales-supporting activities.

  • Product Development: Champion the customer experience and product vision, lead the planning and prioritization of the product roadmap. Use data effectively to drive a comprehensive understanding of the customer, product, and process. Develop an integrated plan for development, content, training, and services teams to ensure every aspect of the product experience is world class. Help define metrics that measure the health and performance of the portfolio and report on results.

  • Business Partner Management: Evaluate and lead potential new partnerships and other external opportunities. Conduct negotiations with partners to finalize business relationships and contracting, with the support of Product Management leadership and internal legal counsel. Manage the ongoing relationships with existing partners. Make recommendations for future new partnerships and manage product enhancements with existing partners.

Qualifications

What You Will Need to Be Successful


Education, Experience, and Knowledge Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (advanced degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 7 years in an applications product management or related role required.

  • Healthcare industry experience required, preferably with experience overseeing an organization’s policy management or quality management system.

  • Software development lifecycle or technology management experience a must.

  • Expertise developing high-level, end-to-end product strategy.


Skills and Abilities Required

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Successfully uses technical applications for business (Salesforce, Microsoft, Aha!).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

    • Works within a multi-disciplinary, matrixed team; effectively influences and directs without formal authority or management control.

    • Displays critical thinking ability examining and considering multiple perspectives and decision-making founded outside of functional silos.

    • Plans and executes own activities with generally defined goals and minimal direction to get initiatives to the finish line.

    • Manages activities for multiple concurrent and complex projects across multiple functional areas with the appropriate prioritization and focus.
