Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.Responsible for the enterprise risk management frameworks and strategy and providing an independent view of aggregate risk faced by DFS that helps make ERM a competitive advantage. This visible role will work closely with the Director Enterprise Risk Management, and business and risk oversight teams (credit, market, liquidity, strategic, operational, compliance and legal risk) to drive necessary action and help communicate findings to executive management and the board of directors. Develops and coaches teams to be able to identify, manage, and escalate risk, and effectively manages risk within the teams you oversee.Responsibilities:• Determining the proper level of change management for a given project and helping end users navigate the process• Shepherding key initiatives through the Change Management process• Running forums for change process owners and Change Management toolkit users to introduce updates, collect feedback, and share best practices• Supporting the Change Management Toolkit team to drive continuous improvement and transparency to end users• Leading change forecasting and resource alignment efforts across business units• Run problem solving sessions to resolve blockers to effective change management• Maintaining Office Hours to answer questions• Executes enhancements to risk appetite and risk identification frameworks and work on refining key risk metrics and establishing linkage to various limit structures, building on existing reporting for senior management and Board, and extending the linkages between risk appetite and the firm's strategic planning, capital planning and risk identification processes.• Facilitates the end-to-end update, review and challenge of the firm's risk identification and risk appetite/KRI framework in collaboration with other 1st and 2nd line teams. Leads the DFS quarterly risk profile reporting cycle in tight coordination with risk leadership to assess changes to risk profile as a result of changes to internal and external environment for presentation to executive management and board of directors.• Works constructively and collaboratively with others to accomplish timely resolution of requirements, findings, limit breaches and leadership objectives.• Uses analytics to understand themes and trends across multiple risk types (market, liquidity, credit, operational, strategic, compliance risks) along with the impact of those themes and trends and facilitate the discussion of actions to address the relevant issues.• Develops ERM metrics and reporting on emerging and significant risks, and the effectiveness of mitigation plans, for risk owners, senior leadership and the board of directors.• Ensures the development, maintenance, and implementation of a coherent set of DFS's ERM standards including policy, risk appetite and KRI standards, issues management standards and other bespoke risk management frameworks.Minimum QualificationsAt a minimum, here's what we need from you:• Bachelor's degree in business administration and management, Finance or Analytics• 6+ years Risk management experience in a financial environment with specific focus on enterprise risk management or internal audit or related• 2+ years People ManagementPreferred QualificationsIf we had our say, we'd also look for:• Master's Degree in Analytics#LI-RRApplication Deadline:The application window for this position is anticipated to close on Sep-03-2024. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package.
