Working Student - Solutions Engineering

Who we are

dlt is an open-source library that automatically creates datasets from messy, unstructured data sources. You can use the library to move data from just about anywhere into the most well-known SQL databases, vector stores, data lakes, storage buckets, or local engines like DuckDB. It automates many cumbersome data engineering tasks and can be handled by anyone who knows Python. We’re currently building our commercial offering dlt+, building blocks for running dlt pipelines in production and at scale.

dltHub is based in Berlin and New York City. It was founded by data and machine learning veterans. We are backed by Foundation Capital, Dig Venture, and many technical founders from companies such as Hugging Face, Instana, Matillion, Miro, and Rasa.

We’re looking for a talented working student to join our solutions engineering team. In this role, you’ll support both pre- and post-sales efforts by creating compelling demos and showcasing how dlt and dlt+ can solve real-world data challenges. You’ll collaborate closely with customers and the internal team to drive adoption and success. If you're a quick learner who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and loves the mix of technical problem-solving and customer engagement, this role is perfect for you.

Your Task and Responsibilities:

  • Build compelling demos to showcase dlt’s capabilities to potential customers
  • Support in sales activities, such as reaching out to and following up with potential customers
  • Support proof-of-concept implementations and troubleshoot technical issues alongside customers
  • Assist customers throughout their engagement in understanding and implementing dlt and dlt+ to solve their data challenges
  • Run training sessions with customers on dlt and dlt+ best practices
  • Gather feedback from customers and collaborate with the product team to address customer challenges and feature requests

Who You Are

  • You have had previous experiences as an intern, working student, or in a similar role that required independence
  • You are proficient in Python
  • You are a good communicator and enjoy engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • You are a quick learner and eager to work with different technologies in the data ecosystem
  • You can take initiative, manage your tasks effectively, and work with minimal supervision

Nice to Have

  • Experience with CRM tools like HubSpot
  • Experience with data engineering and ETL tools
  • Previous experience in a customer facing role

What do we offer

  • In our work culture, we value each other’s autonomy and efficiency. We have set hours for communication and deep work. We like automation, so we automate our work before we automate the work of others.
  • We are an office-first company that offers plenty of opportunities for deep work and work from home. Dedicated "no meeting days" to help the team focus on their most impactful work
  • As we work mostly from the Berlin office, we cover your public transportation ticket
  • We are deeply committed to your personal and professional growth, so we have an annual budget for learning and development.
  • We offer regular subsidized team lunches and Urban Sports Club membership.
