Windows System Administrator

Education at Work (E@W) is seeking a skilled and motivated Windows System Administrator to support and maintain our hybrid identity infrastructure and core Microsoft 365 services. This position is responsible for the daily operation, security, and optimization of our on-prem Active Directory environment and Azure-based Entra ID. You will also contribute to the administration of SharePoint Online and related collaboration tools across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This is a key role for someone who thrives in a hybrid IT environment and is passionate about secure, reliable, and user-focused system administration.


Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support on-premises Active Directory: user/group management, OU structure, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
  • Maintain and monitor Azure Entra ID (formerly Azure AD): manage cloud identities, roles, and conditional access policies.
  • Configure and support Single Sign-On (SSO) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across integrated services.
  • Ensure directory security through proper permissions, auditing, and policy enforcement.
  • Support hybrid identity environments using Azure AD Connect.
  • Manage basic SharePoint Online site structures, permissions, and content organization.
  • Respond to incidents, troubleshoot authentication issues, and resolve access or sync problems.
  • Assist with backup and recovery strategies related to identity and collaboration systems.


Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of experience in Windows system administration or similar role.
  • Proficiency with Active Directory and Group Policy management.
  • Working knowledge of Azure AD/Entra ID and hybrid identity solutions.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint Online.
  • Understanding of authentication protocols (LDAP, Kerberos, NTLM).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Conditional Access, SSO configuration, and MFA administration.
  • Familiarity with Azure AD Connect sync and user provisioning workflows.
  • Exposure to SharePoint site architecture and Teams integration.
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., AZ-104, MS-100, or SC-900.
