We are proud to offer industry leading compensation, comprehensive benefits, 401(k) match with additional profit sharing, PTO and abundant career opportunities.Come join our award winning 11,000 strong organization as we fuel the world and each other!SummaryThe Electrical / Instrumentation Technician will create, maintain and repair the components and equipment used in any equipment or device that involves electricity on site to keep machinery and specialty equipment running correctly.Essential Duties And Responsibilities• Perform maintenance on all types of control, measurement, and laboratory and instrumentation equipment.• May perform programming and troubleshooting operations on Omni flow computers and terminal data acquisition equipment.• Perform repair and maintenance activities on various types of meters, samplers, valves, transmitters, electric/pneumatic valve actuators, piping and associated pipeline and terminal equipment.• Troubleshoot and program automated facility control equipment, calibrate required safety devices, manipulate facility valves and piping to receive the desired operating status.• The Electrical Technician A is also responsible for assisting other technicians with maintenance and repair duties.• This role is also responsible for preventative maintenance and replacement of various types of electrical equipment and accessories.• The Electrical Technician A is required to perform maintenance work on all terminal assets and is subject to various assignments at management’s discretion.• Responsible for completing work in compliance with Company procedure and government regulations (DOT, USCG, EPA, etc.).• Must perform Department of Transportation (DOT) required equipment inspection, repair and replacement duties as required by regulations.• Responsible to maintain proper records. This position may be required to participate in emergency response activities as necessary.• Able to read equipment manuals, specification sheets, P&ID’s and loop sheets.• Have an understanding of national electrical codes.• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook• Strong planning and organizational skills as well as strong work ethic• Good judgment and decision-making skills• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills required• Requires climbing, walking, sitting, bending and stooping• Must be able to communicate clearly with telephone and radio• Must be able work in severe weather conditionsRequirementsEducation and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:• High School Diploma or Equivalent• Minimum 5 years’ electrical repair experience in petroleum or chemical storage facilities, refineries or chemical manufacturing plants with specific proficiencies in maintenance and repair of instrument systems including DCS/PLC/SCADA, gas detection, process analyzers, control valves, pressure/flow measurement, and vibration equipment.• Minimum 5 years’ experience maintaining motor controls, relay logic, RTU’s, fiber optics and associated end-devices.Preferred Qualifications• Associates degree in Instrument Technology, Electric Technology or equivalent is preferred.Working Conditions• The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.• Usually, normal office working conditions.• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.• Occasional overnight travel may be required.An equal opportunity employer/disability/vetEnergy Transfer is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against qualified applicants on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, pregnancy, veteran status, genetic information, citizenship status, or any other basis prohibited by law.The nature and frequency of the above working conditions and requirements may vary depending on individual operational circumstances.
