Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Facilities Manager to help us advance the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Safety is always first in all activities to assure the safety and wellbeing of all employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Implement all necessary measures and initiatives to maintain manufacturing equipment uptime over 95% of the time.
  • Manage Maintenance Planning process to develop and implement manufacturing resiliency initiatives.
  • Develop, manage, and execute Facilities improvement projects.
  • Support the installation and relocation of manufacturing equipment.
  • Assure all equipment and infrastructure, and any other elements impacting a safe work environment are always in top operational conditions.
  • Maintenance, repair, and upgrading of the existing facility equipment and all equipment documentation.
  • Interface with design/build team and subcontractors in the event of renovations and facility build-out.
  • Interface with other technology and engineering teams to specify new manufacturing automation and equipment.
  • Coordinate with contractors and landlord when HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc. repairs or upgrades are needed.
  • Primary liaison with outside machine shops and equipment vendors for both fabrication and repair work.
  • Assist in safety operations, including routine scheduled inspections of equipment including fire extinguishers, safety showers, etc.
  • Define equipment and tool needs and develop plans to obtain required equipment, tools, and hardware.
  • Maintain manufacturing and utilities machinery and ensure measurement equipment is kept within calibration and in optimal conditions.
  • Manage Maintenance Engineering to identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement across the facility and develop engineering solutions to mitigate the situations and to proactively mitigate potential issues.
  • Order supplies/materials.
  • Oversee facilities personnel safety and training; manage spare parts inventory, support Management with permits, licenses, etc.
  • Meet all standard operating procedures, codes, and regulations.
  • Train employees on production equipment utilization.
  • Identification and procurement of new equipment as needed through Cap Ex process management.
  • Travel to other Aurora sites as needed to manage and support process and equipment maintenance improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred), or trade school certificate.
  • Must be a US Person
  • 7+ years related work experience in Facilities.
  • 3+ years of experience managing Facilities teams.
  • 7+ years of experience managing Multiskilled Engineering teams.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, organization skills, and strong analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
  • A valid US driver license is required.

  • Desire and aptitude to work in a creative and innovative environment

Physical Requirements

  • The employee must be willing to work safely and obey all safety regulations a must.
  • Must be able to lift to 35 pounds.

Shift Requirements:
  • Must be available 24/7 to respond to emergency or to respond to work being performed by contractors after hours. Must be available to work off hours as needed.

Salary Range (Annualized USD)

  • Minimum Range: $83,000.00 to $148,000.00
  • Maximum Range: $103,000.00 to $184,000.00
