Position Summary

Facilities Operation Training Manager position will be responsible for establishing a training department that shall develop Operation and Maintenance training materials to comply with project specifications, Federal, State and local jurisdiction regulatory requirements. Develop training schedules, budget, resources to deliver classroom and On the Job (OJT) training to owner Operation and Maintenance Personnel that support the overall project schedule and contractual obligations. Incorporate supplier provided training into the project training program ensuring full compliance with contract requirements. Reporting directly to the Commissioning & Startup Functional Manager for the Energy Global Business Unit for all project training matters. Provides supervision and development to training department direct reports.


Responsibilities

  • Supervises the activities of training department.
  • Performs annual performance reviews and evaluations of direct reports.
  • Identifies and recommends staffing requirements to support current and future project growth
  • Schedules work to be performed and monitors work progress.
  • Assists in the preparation of operational manuals and procedures which govern facility operations and monitors adherence to same.
  • Is responsible for the implementation of safety and security policies, procedures and instructions for facility operations and ensures that all state and federal codes, requirements, and standards are complied with.
  • Prepares progress and expenditure forecasts and other operational reports as required.
  • Establish and maintain cordial relationships with owner counterparts
  • Coordinates operational activities and provides technical input to facility personnel and representatives of the client when instructed by the responsible manager.
  • Monitors the activities of suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Implements approved training programs for designated personnel to ensure progressive training.
  • Monitors labor relations within the assigned area.
  • Determines, with the assistance of management personnel, the general training and development program requirements to comply with management and/or client directives.
  • Prepares an initial budget estimate for training and development and submits it to the Project Manager, Facility Manager or to the responsible functional training manager.
  • Develops, coordinates. and implements approved and budgeted training and development programs, including on the job training as well as on-site and off-site courses and programs
  • Develops or obtains training manuals and instructional aids and materials as required.
  • Delivers or supervises training courses and programs. Arranges for technical assistance as required.
  • Administers and monitors all training and development programs to ensure goals are attained, schedules are met, modifications are made as necessary and reporting requirements are observed.


Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications:

  • A recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or specialized courses in operational technology and management, and/or work experience leading to a thorough understanding of the knowledge described above.
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience in the field of facility operations and training.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience and demonstrated ability to deliver training courses using classroom techniques and standard or improvised teaching aids
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present effective oral and written reports.
  • Skill in developing, coordinating, implementing, and administering training programs.
  • Skill in personnel administration.
  • Knowledge and experience in the scope of work inherent In operations and maintenance projects.
  • Skill in supervision and administration.
