Facilities Technician

Carbon is looking for a Facilities Technician to join our team in Redwood City, CA. The ideal candidate shall perform hazardous waste operations and cleanup activities, sample collection, and waste removal. He/She shall follow applicable written standard operating procedures, regulations, guidelines, policies, and onsite specific safety plans when performing cleanup activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Comply with decontamination procedures and personal protective equipment requirements
Recognize and appropriately respond to physical and chemical hazards
Operate and routinely use hand and power tools
Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment warehouse maintenance, stock supplies, building maintenance

Requirements:

Ability to complete training and certifications necessary for employment such as DOT HAZMAT and RCRA Training
Able to use Microsoft Excel to create and maintain a database
Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments.
Willing to perform a diverse set of tasks and adapt to changing work environments
Able to wear full and half-face respirator
Ability to drive a forklift

Education/Work Experience:

High School diploma or GED.
Completion of a private, military or trade school training program that includes theory and on-the-job work.
At least two years of verifiable experience (three or more highly desirable) maintaining various building interior and exterior surfaces, including painted and papered walls, baseboards, tiled and carpeted floor surfaces, and brass and stainless-steel finishes.
Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment.

At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $39.90 per hour. Your actual pay will be based on your experience, work location, certifications, and the unique skills you bring to the role.

If you are not based in our Redwood City office, the range above will be adjusted for the geographical differential associated with your actual work location.
