BI Developer (part-time)

We are seeking a Power BI Developer to join a project and help transform raw data into insights that help shape business decisions.  You will work closely with business users to understand data needs; analyse datasets to uncover trends and insights, and develop interactive dashboards and reports that present findings in compelling ways. 

 Your activities will include: 

  •  Working with business users to review a set of approximately 150 legacy Power BI reports, capturing which reports should be kept, which updated and enhanced, which discarded and replaced. 
  • Creating and maintaining a backlog of requirements. 
  • Designing new Power BI reports, or redesigning and enhancing existing Power BI reports based on findings and user requirements. 
  • Collaborating with the data warehouse team to arrange for the appropriate data to be made available for Power BI. 
  • Testing and debugging Power BI reports ensuring accuracy, performance, and usability. 
  • Validating data quality, looking for missing values or inconsistencies, and transforming it into a usable format. 
  • Launching new or redesigned and enhanced Power BI reports to business users and support user adoption. 
  • Actively participating in Agile project management ceremonies. 
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • You are an expert user of Power BI and toolkit Power Query. 
  • You have expertise in DAX and SQL. 
  • You are expert in creating Power BI reports and dashboards. 
  • You have a strong analytical mind. 
  • You are a critical thinker and effective at problem-solving. 
  • You have excellent communication skills in English (both written and spoken) 
  • You have strong attention to detail. 
  • You can translate business needs into technical specs. 
  • You have a good understanding of data warehouse architecture and the upstream process of delivering data into Power BI.
