Financial Consultant I - Corporate FP&A - Remote

Your Role: We are looking for a self-starter with a strong financial reporting background, strong presentation skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a challenging environment with ambiguous situations, and solid project management skills.

Your work:

  • Management reporting – prepare Board and F&I committee storyline and materials, which are related to Flash and Performance Report but formatted for board consumption, with special attention paid to visual impact and compelling narrative. Assist in preparation of Flash Report (first look at financial results for month) and Performance Report (summary of financial results with other operational reporting).

  • Planning process coordination – work across the FP&A group, the overall Finance group, and across the organization to develop and manage the plan calendar and assist in standardizing deliverables across the group for presentation to executive management and the board.

  • Regulatory and compliance reporting – coordinate FP&A efforts with Legal, Actuarial, Corporate Reporting, and Regulatory and Compliance teams to provide periodic reporting to Departments of Insurance and other related stakeholders. On an ad-hoc basis, assist with product filings and other regulatory submissions.

  • Ad hoc projects – this would include things like using external economic data to forecast impact on business, looking at potential M&A activity, and helping the business identify efficiency opportunities.

  • Financial strength and credit assessment – lead the financial strength and credit assessment process to evaluate vendors and other stakeholders or partners of the company using publicly available financial data or, where appropriate, financial data provided directly by the entity in question. Coordinate financial assessment efforts with Enterprise Risk and Sourcing groups to produce optimal outcomes.

  • Commercial insurance SME – leverage knowledge about the commercial insurance market to monitor development of commercial insurance segment in coordination with Finance Operations team. Monitor market conditions and competitors in the commercial insurance space to provide insight.

  • Reinsurance SME – leverage knowledge about reinsurance to establish best practices for reinsurance reporting and close management, in conjunction with Finance Operations teams and Accounting. Develop and enhance reporting on reinsurance to provide better monitoring of reinsurance portfolio and offer strategic guidance.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • BA/BS degree in business, finance or a related field required, MBA preferred

  • 10+ years of relevant finance experience

  • Strong written and visual presentation skills in Powerpoint/Excel

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills

  • Profit and loss statement management and/or analysis experience

  • Knowledge of financial principles like NPV, IRR, ROE, etc.

  • Experience with financial systems, e.g. Oracle ERP/EPM, SAP, Tableau, etc.

  • Proficient in Microsoft suite products

  • Strong project management skills

  • Travels as needed for role, including divisional / team meetings and other in-person meetings

  • Fulfills business needs, which may include investing extra time, helping other teams, etc

The national average salary range for this position is $127,890 - $142,100. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full [salary range] [hourly rate range] for this position across all the states we hire in is $115,200 - $170,600. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 12% of eligible pay.
