ABOUT THE POSITION

Location: Mountain View, CA (Hybrid)

The IT Director - Americas Facilities and Global Networking is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and support of local IT services, end point management, and global networking strategies. This individual will oversee in-person IT support, manage Audio/Visual equipment, and provide executive white-glove services. Additionally, the role involves defining and implementing end point management strategies, policies, and tools, as well as developing and maintaining the global network topology and architecture. The IT Director will ensure the organization's IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and capable of supporting business objectives across the Americas and globally.

Key Responsibilities Include:


•Local Site Support

o Develop and implement policies and procedures for local site IT support.

o Manage a team in charge of in-person walk-up IT support for local sites (Americas).

o Ensure efficient and effective management of Audio/Visual (A/V) equipment (Americas).

o Provide executive white-glove IT support, ensuring high-level service for senior leadership.


•End Point Management

o Define and manage the global strategy for end point management.

o Ensure proper lifecycle management of end point devices, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.

o Develop and enforce policies related to end point management, ensuring security and compliance.

o Select and manage tools for end point management, ensuring they meet organizational needs and standards.


•Global Networking Strategy

o Develop and oversee the global networking strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

o Establish and enforce policies related to global networking, ensuring security, performance, and compliance.

o Design and maintain the global network topology and architecture, ensuring reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

o Collaborate with regional IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of the global network.



What an ideal candidate brings to Fluence?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required;
  • Master's degree in business, science or technology, preferred;
  • At least 8-10 years of experience with IT networking and infrastructure solutions, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks effectively, and make decisions.
  • Strong expertise in project tracking and execution, and leading inter-organization change to increase efficiency through implementation of technology. 
  • Proven track record of successful vendor management and software licensing negotiations.
