About the Role

Primary responsibility includes working with the Laboratory Director to oversee the operation of the Laboratory. Activities include learning CLIA regulations and their implementation, working with the Laboratory Director to maintain QMS compliance, ensure that patient data is of the highest quality, and work with Lab Operations to ensure that laboratory services are carried out in an expeditious manner. Additional responsibilities include overseeing histopathology services, maintaining performance improvement activities within the department and participating in the Team effort to maintain efficient and effective departmental operations in compliance with all state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols.

What You Will Do

• Work with Laboratory Director on learning the application of CLIA statutes to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.

• Work with Laboratory Director to maintain the QMS, as required.

• Work with Laboratory Operations to implement effectiveness of operation, utilization of personnel and supplies, and general ethical and professional atmosphere.

• Work with the Operation Team to maintain the physical facilities, equipment and supplies which are required to carry out effective patient care and create an optimum physical environment.

• Maintain a daily presence in the Laboratory to oversee technical aspects of the laboratory and provide consultation to laboratory personnel.

• Work with Laboratory Operations to implement the necessary histopathology services, which may include outsourcing or enabling in-house histopathology services.

• Work with Chief Medical Officer to oversee the Medical Affairs Team.

• Work with Clinical Development to learn GCP, GLP, and clinical trial implementation.

• Interact professionally with patient/family as appropriate.

• Consult other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.

What You Will Bring

• Medical Doctorate (M.D.) degree (or equivalent D.O. or non-US equivalent of M.D).

• Board certified in Clinical Pathology from the American Board of Pathology.

• Must have experience with regulatory and accreditation of laboratory operations, preferably CLIA and CAP.

Compensation & Benefits

This role is offering a salary between $275,000 - $300,000 and is eligible for equity offerings.
