Job Description

Salary Range: $68,640-$74,500 per year 

Purpose of Position: To supervise the activities of crews on the fryer ranches to include cleanup, setup, and landscaping of excess lands to maintain Foster Farms standards of quality, safety, and cost.

  • Supervise, analyze, guide and control all aspects of the Set Up/Clean Up Crew to promote consistent performance at the least cost, while maintaining highest quality and safety standards.
  • Anticipate and monitor ranch and crew labor needs. Includes being responsible for orientating and training Clean Up/Set Up Persons to become Assistant Ranch Foreperson Trainees.
  • Work closely with other supervisors to solve labor problems.
  • Work closely with other supervisors to distribute labor.
  • Responsible for training and development of Set Up/Clean Up Crew Leadspersons and preparing crew employees for training programs.
  • Supervise all maintenance of equipment. Includes, justifying and purchasing new equipment as needed, and monitoring all equipment service programs.
  • Monitor quality of all work in area of responsibility.
  • Complete necessary records to ensure that the following is accomplished:
  • Evaluation of Brooder Crew employees Monthly.
  • Oversee safety programs.   
  • Plan, project, and coordinate clean/setup activities while maintaining the lowest possible cost consistent with quality standards.

Includes:

  • Monitoring safety.
  • Analyzing and monitoring all labor, fuel, supply, and maintenance costs.
  • Organizing, and controlling short-range planning in anticipation of labor, litter, and equipment needs.    
  • Oversee maintenance of all equipment.    
  • Monitor quality of work.    
  • Maintain excess lands as required.    
  • Maintain Foster Farms standards of quality on ranch appearance.    

Qualifications

  • Strong Animal Science background/ chicken growing experience (a Bachelor of Science Degree in Poultry Science, Ag-Business or related field is preferred).
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Must have strong leadership/supervisor skills with the ability to act independently and be able to evaluate fairly and objectively.
  • Must be able to work flexible work schedules as needed to include weekends, holidays, late and early morning hours.
  • Must have good computer skills and the ability to create and analyze data.
  • Ability to interface with all support groups, departments and upper management.
  • Must be able to work independently/ unsupervised and have strong time management skills.
  • Must have a valid Class C Driver’s License and maintain a good DMV driving record.
  • Must be able to follow and enforce all company policies and guidelines including bio-security and animal welfare policies and guidelines.
  • Must be detailed oriented and have a strong mechanical, mathematical and analytical aptitude.
