Description
The ideal candidate is passionate about healthcare and is comfortable communicating directly with patients, staff, physicians. They are comfortable with EMR systems, medical inventory management, and treatment follow-up. They prioritize the patient’s experience, enjoy forming collaborative, positive relationships with other staff, and approach all interactions with compassion.
Responsibilities:

Support administrative staff with intake and patient check-in/out

Perform routine clinical tasks, such as taking vitals and medical history, to support medical staff

Give follow-up instructions, health education and materials to patients as instructed by clinician

Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures and prescription authorizations

Manage clinical inventory and orders

Give follow-up instructions, health education and materials to patients as instructed by clinician

Maintain electronic patient records and charges to ensure completeness and accuracy of information

Complete appropriate electronic forms as required for the patient’s medical treatment

Review, perform and schedule preventable health maintenance per schedule

Support the vision, mission and goals, and demonstrate a commitment to the values, of the organization

Perform other duties as directed
Qualifications:
-
Previous experience in healthcare or other related fields
- High school graduate or equivalent

Clinical Medical Assistant Certification
-
Ability to perform the full range of professional medical assistant duties

Knowledge of general medical back office procedures, such as navigating EMR systems and taking medical history

Verbal and written communication skills
-
Experience/familiarity with computers, EMR systems, email, communication systems and internet search capabilities and proficient in Microsoft Office products

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
