General Maintenance

Position Overview:
This individual will work as a team member in order to produce product that meets internal quality standards and customer specifications ensuring customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for maintaining industrial equipment and ensuring all preventative maintenance schedules are being follow. You will ensure that equipment in running and performing properly.

As a member of the team, you can expect:

Our General Maintenance Technician wages start at $22.843 an hour. Once the probationary period is completed, the hourly wage increases to $27.50. Our Skilled Based Incentive pay model can increase your earnings even further! Employees receive overtime and double time pay for qualifying hours worked weekly. A monthly gain-share bonus can be earned based on personal and plant performance metrics. Our benefits are excellent! We offer paid vacation and holidays. Employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance. We also offer a very competitive 401K plan that includes a company match and an additional Employer contribution after one year of employment!
Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum education of either a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two to three years work experience in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Prior experience working in maintenance department of an industrial manufacturer (1-3 years minimum depending on quality of experience).
  • Successful candidates must pass a mechanical MTC skills test
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
