Gemini is a New York trust company that is subject to the capital reserve requirements, cybersecurity requirements, and banking compliance standards set forth by the New York State Department of Financial Services and the New York Banking Law. Gemini was founded in 2014 by twin brothers Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss to empower the individual through crypto.

The Role: General Manager, Consumer Experiences

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial leader who is passionate about innovating on behalf of Gemini customers, and demonstrates a high degree of technical depth, product vision and growth strategy. This is the Vice President, GM role for our consumer experiences organization responsible for building and operating Gemini web and mobile clients and experiences. A leader in this role should have an exemplary and hands-on track record of engineering a highly scaled front end stack in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, managing multiple development and product management teams at the same time. We expect a leader in this role to have a balance between engineering depth, product vision, user experience creativity, and business acumen. This is one of the highest impact and influence roles in Gemini reporting to the CTO and will have daily level engagements with the founders and other members of the C-suite.

A leader in this role should have excellent technical and problem-solving skills along with an eye for simple and frictionless user experience, and an ability to get things delivered. This role requires creatively dealing with ambiguity, being highly data driven, championing engineering excellence, raising the bar on architecture, predictable quality, maintainability, performance, privacy, and security. Since this role will be responsible for product strategy, engineering delivery and business growth, experience with Go to market strategies, MarTech along with PnL responsibility will be preferred. Someone in this role should enjoy growing members and leaders in their team by providing direction, effective delegation and promoting a culture of ownership, sense of urgency, and delivering results.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ Years of delivering product and engineering results of large scale B2C software products from inception to customer delivery 
  • 10+ Years of technology leadership, managing and building teams
  • Strong judgment and business acumen in determining strategic vision and running a innovative, complex, multivariate business
  • Deep domain expertise with respect to web and mobile products engineering and user experience is essential 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, developers, and C-suite - strong written and verbal communication skills. This role will require precision writing on engineering decisions and business growth plans

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with web and mobile technologies frameworks such as Next.js / React and languages such as TypeScript, Scala, and JavaScript
  • Experience successfully partnering with and communicating effectively to C-suite Executives on highly strategic programs
  • Pragmatic understanding of machine learning and distributed system optimization
  • Proven ability to distill durable market trends to insightful product vision in highly ambiguous emerging markets
  • Comfortable taking a vague notion, working with your customers to refine it to actionable plans and execute on those plans with precision, alacrity and focus on details
  • Experience building Go to Market strategies and plans
  • Excellent planning, organization and prioritization skills
