NV5 Geospatial (NV5G) is actively recruiting a GIS Technician who possesses experience in geospatial technologies and analytic methodologies. This position supports Analysts and Senior Analysts in the production, processing and classification of remote sensing data, and quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) efforts for land cover projects. The Technician should be able to produce accurate and precise products in a consistent and timely manner. Technicians should be self-motivated with exceptional critical thinking, analytical and communication skills. Primary duties of a Technician in the eGIS group includes classification of data through photo-interpretation and vector digitizing. This position is a fully remote position within an engaged, virtual Division at NV5G requiring frequent use of Teams Video technology.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports production for water resource projects using remote sensing data
  • Implements georeferencing, coordinate geometry, digitizing and other techniques to accurately represent data in GIS
  • Identifies/Investigates multiple sources to be used for attribution and direct geospatial application.
  • Manipulates and classifies data with great attention to detail and efficiency
  • Maintains precision and accuracy in high volume workflows
  • Implements established QA/QC protocols
  • All other reasonable duties as assigned

  • Able to travel locally or nationally for occasional team meetings (<10% travel)
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Experience with ArcGIS and/or QGIS software
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $21.63- $24.03 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Base pay information is based on market location. Applicants should apply via the NV5 careers site.
